Terms of Service

These terms explain the rules for using TransHalo accounts, credits, realtime captioning, translation, extension connection, and billing features.

Last updated: June 18, 2026

Using TransHalo

TransHalo provides browser-based live captions and translation tools for audio you choose to process through the web app and Chrome extension.

You are responsible for making sure you have the right to capture, caption, translate, or otherwise process any audio, meeting, video, or other content you use with the service.

Accounts and access

You may need an account to use credit balances, paid plans, realtime sessions, and extension connection flows.

Keep your account credentials and connected browser extension access secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account unless the activity was caused by our security failure.

Credits and billing

Realtime subtitles consume credits based on started caption minutes. Plan allowances, prices, and billing intervals are shown on the pricing page before checkout.

Paid checkout, subscription management, invoices, and payment methods are handled through Stripe. Billing changes take effect according to the Stripe checkout or billing portal flow shown to you.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to break laws, infringe rights, capture audio without required permission, abuse realtime providers, probe or attack systems, or interfere with other users.

We may limit, suspend, or terminate access when we reasonably believe the service is being misused or when required to protect the product, users, providers, or legal compliance.

Service changes and availability

We may modify features, provider integrations, credit rules, or plan details as the product evolves.

The service may be unavailable during maintenance, provider outages, browser changes, network issues, or other events outside normal control.

Disclaimers and liability

Captions and translations may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Do not rely on them as the sole record for legal, medical, financial, emergency, or other high-risk decisions.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties, and liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the product, billing model, providers, or legal requirements change.

If a change materially affects your use of the service, we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice through the product or another appropriate channel.
